Table of verbs followed by the infinitive, and verbs followed by the gerund.

We need to find out which verbs are followed by the infinitive and which by the gerund because in Spanish the similar phrase uses the infinitive or the infinitive with a preposition (nos fuimos a bailar - we went dancing; decidimos quedarnos - we decided to stay).

Tip for learning all this: jot down in your notebook all the verbs you find most often in your textbook, sorting them out in a table!
