Hello, Luna! Thanks for your comment! <3 It's interesting. "Hoover" is a word in American English for "vacuum cleaner" and yes, it comes from a make, a brand, like many other words we use every day! The interesting thing is that language change may have brought a preference now for the word every body uses in many different countries. This happens at times because a make disappears and people forget about it.

Hey there! Cool podcast. I lived for a long time in the US and never heard the term “hoover” to talk about a vacuum cleaner (that’s just a brand’s name). I know that’s how it’s called in England and other places. We just called it vacuum or vacuum cleaner. 🙂
