Report on a Car Accident
By Leticia (Y5C, 2007-08) - Lalala forum member
The purpose of this report is to describe the circumstances of the car accident I witnessed yesterday, July the 15th, in Gibraltar. The report provides a description of the facts and of the people involved, the personal injuries and the car damages, and my personal details in case it be necessary to contact me.*
- The accident
- At 8am, as I was dodging two motorbikes while crossing the Winston Churchill Avenue near the airport, a black Mercedes appeared at great speed, followed by a yellow Twingo. When the first car was about to reach the airport entrance, a sudden waving of the driver caused its fall into the water of the Strait of Gibraltar.
- The people involved
- There were three people involved:
- The two passengers of the Mercedes: they were sitting behind smoked glasses. Nevertheless, once rescued, they appeared to be Prince Charles and his sister-in-law, Sophie, whom I recognized immediately.
- The driver of the Twingo: he was a middle aged squad man, dark-skinned and glabrous. He stopped his car to take some pictures of the Mercedes in the water and disappeared.
- The personal injuries
- After calling an ambulance, I drove and rescued the victims. They both were unconcious but without any apparent physical injury, apart from a little gash in Prince Charles’s bald match. As soon as the ambulance came, they were re-animated.
- The car damages
- Because it still remains in the depths of the ocean, I only can affirm the car might have the hood very bashed, as it broke a stony fence before its falling.
In my opinion, contacting the Renault driver is crucial, as I am the sole eye witness. However I very much doubt he would support my testimony in case he is identified.

*Note by michelle: I marked in purple the part I would not mention if I were to use headings, because then it's far too obvious, I mean, that part of the intro is redundant with the headings. The basic intro would be stating what and when, so the opening sentence in Leticia's report is a must. In any case, I see no reason for stating in the intro you will give your contact information.
