  1. * Select the topic and the main outline of the plot; also, the genre: mystery, romance…
  2. * Organization and cohesion: which tenses are you going to use, linking words...
  3. * Style and format: formal, informal; the length of the story…
  4. * Target reader: who are you writing for? Tone
    * Presentation, main part, the ending: opening sentences, paragraphing, ending...
